Now Lift the Veil

Bill Daugherty

Now lift the veil, behold your bride
That all the earth may burst in bloom
And fill the heavens with its perfume;
Creation groans—why do you bide?

How long must she you sanctified
Unto yourself await her groom?
Now lift the veil, behold your bride
That all the earth may burst in bloom.

O stricken Rock with streaming side!
The spirit and water bid you come.
You ravish us in the inner room
Yet leave our thirst unsatisfied.
Now lift the veil. Come claim your bride!
